Regional Organization
The Chico Stewardship Network is committed to the expansion of a strong people through the encouragement of individual and civic responsibility expressed as a partnership of citizen and institution in the People, Place and Economy spheres of our culture. This partnership is expressed as Community Alliance Action Teams and Community Alliance Leadership Teams.
Promising Practices
The Talent Pipeline is a collaborative effort between the Chico Unified School District, City of Chico, Chamber of Commerce, Chico Economic Planning Corporation, Rotary, CSU-Chico and Faith Community focused on advancing education in the Butte Region. Organized as the Community Alliance for Educational Excellence (CAEE), the focus is community-based educational reform in the context of a stewardship-based governance model, which is proving to have applications in other areas (e.g., crime prevention). The CAEE is pursuing a two-level strategy: Building Community Around Schools and Reconciliation of Fractured Leadership.
